The Opportunity
Five openings on a 45-bed inpatient surgical unit — this is post-op nursing at its most consequential. Patients arrive from the PACU following abdominal surgeries and a range of complex procedures, and your role is to carry them through overnight recovery using the kind of clinical judgment that builds a real career. The volume is consistent, the acuity is genuine, and the pace here sharpens nurses fast. For an RN looking to position themselves for charge, supervisor, or clinical educator roles, this unit delivers the experience that gets you there.
These are night shift positions with rotating weekends. All five openings are currently available. The unit runs on a 7:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with 45 beds. The interview process is in-person and may include a facility tour, shadowing, and a meeting with administration. Candidates must live within approximately 60 minutes of the facility to be considered.
The benefits package is substantial. Medical coverage includes many common services at no cost or low copay, with prescription drug and behavioral health coverage built in. Retirement matching is competitive — 100% match on 3% to 9% of pay based on years of service — with an employee stock purchase plan available as well. Education assistance covers tuition, student loan support, and certification programs. Paid time off, paid family leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, and a colleague recognition program are all included. Compensation is competitive and based on experience. Relocation assistance is negotiable.
Minimum one year of RN experience is required, and the team is open to candidates coming from a range of care settings, including LTAC and home health. A current Florida RN license or an approved multistate compact license is required — compact holders have 60 days following relocation to obtain their Florida license. A nursing diploma or ASN meets the minimum; BSN is preferred. BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) certification must be in place before the start date. NIH Stroke Scale and Basic Cardiac Life Support certifications are required within 30 days of hire.
If your license is current and your background fits, apply now or reach out directly to schedule a confidential call. We will walk you through the full details and move quickly for the right candidate.

The Package
Why North Central Florida?
North Central Florida moves at a pace most people underestimate. It is a college town at its core — walkable, culturally active, with independent restaurants, arts venues, live music, and a community that tends to put down roots. The cost of living runs meaningfully lower than Florida's coastal markets, which means the same income stretches further. Florida levies no state income tax, so what you earn, you keep. Families are drawn to the area for its school quality, neighborhood stability, and the kind of weather where kids can spend time outside nine months of the year. Winters are brief and mild — less a season than a long, pleasant spring by most standards.
Outdoor recreation is a genuine draw. The region sits close to several natural springs offering clear-water swimming and kayaking within a short drive, and the surrounding landscape includes state parks, extensive trail systems, and easy reach of both Gulf and Atlantic coastlines. Either coast is roughly two hours away — close enough for a meaningful day off. For anyone considering a relocation, North Central Florida tends to exceed expectations. It is a place that rewards settling in — affordable, active, and community-forward in ways that make evenings and weekends genuinely enjoyable rather than something to plan around.
