    RN Director of Patient Safety

West Palm Beach, Florida Director Full-Time Days, No Weekends

    The Opportunity

This is a director-level patient safety opportunity inside a large South Florida acute care system — a role with real organizational weight and a clear leadership mandate. As Director of Patient Safety, you will lead the transition from reactive risk management to a proactive, data-driven safety culture across a 280-bed acute care facility that includes a 124-bed inpatient behavioral health unit. You report directly to the COO and carry enterprise-level visibility from day one.

The schedule is full-time, straight days, Monday through Friday — no weekends. One opening is available, and this is a permanent placement. Direct reports include one manager and four supervisors, with a total FTE accountability of 52. You will own patient experience, throughput, and retention as the top three organizational priorities — the kind of scope that builds a VP-track record.

This facility combines the resources of a large acute care platform with a behavioral health specialty component that sets it apart in the market. The organization has invested in advanced clinical infrastructure — a certified stroke center, interventional vascular services, surgical and diagnostic capabilities, and a dedicated inpatient psychiatric program. A sign-on bonus is considered on a case-by-case basis. Relocation assistance is negotiable. Compensation is competitive based on experience.

Candidates must hold a current Florida Registered Nurse license or recognized compact licensure. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program is required. A minimum of three years of clinical experience in quality improvement, performance improvement, or risk management within an acute care hospital setting is required. Fingerprint clearance is required. The Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) credential must be obtained within one year of employment start date.

If this role aligns with where you want to take your career, apply now or reach out to schedule a confidential conversation. We will walk you through the full details.

    Why West Palm Beach?

West Palm Beach sits along Florida's Atlantic coast at the northern edge of the Gold Coast corridor, offering the lifestyle advantages of South Florida without the congestion of Miami. The city has a genuine downtown core — Clematis Street and the Rosemary Square district give residents a walkable mix of dining, live music, and local culture year-round. The waterfront is part of daily life here, with direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway, Lake Worth Lagoon, and some of the most accessible Atlantic beaches in the state. Palm Beach Island, directly across the bridge, adds a layer of cultural and culinary amenity that most markets simply cannot match.

For professionals relocating with families, the area delivers strong public and private school options, well-established suburban communities in places like Wellington and Palm Beach Gardens, and commutes that are manageable by Florida standards. The climate is warm year-round — winters here draw people from across the country, and the summers reward those who stay. Miami is roughly an hour south and Orlando about two hours north, with Palm Beach International Airport offering straightforward regional and national connections. Florida carries no state income tax, which is a meaningful number when factoring a relocation decision. West Palm Beach has a way of starting as a career move and turning into a permanent one.
