The Opportunity
This is a permanent Med-Surg RN opportunity inside a well-established 238-bed acute care hospital in Panama City, Florida. The facility has been part of Bay County's healthcare landscape for four decades and operates a wide clinical scope — advanced cardiac care, certified stroke care, a dedicated Pediatric ER, a Level III NICU, and a PICU. For a nurse who wants their next position to carry real weight on a resume and put them inside a system built to last, this placement delivers that.
One opening is currently available, with both day and night shifts on the table — 12-hour rotations, 7a-7p days and 7p-7a nights, with rotating weekends. Nurse-to-patient ratio runs 6:1. Importantly, this role does not require prior Med-Surg-specific experience. Acute care RN background qualifies — within three years for most candidates, or within the last five years for those with a substantial overall RN career behind them.
The benefits package is comprehensive by any measure. Medical coverage handles many common services at no cost, including prescription, behavioral health, and free telemedicine. Dental, vision, disability, FSAs, auto and home insurance, and identity theft protection are all on the table. The 401(k) matches 100% on 3% to 9% of pay based on years of service. There's also an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, tuition and student loan assistance, paid family leave, and a colleague recognition program. Relocation assistance is available on a negotiable basis for the right candidate.
Candidates must hold an active RN license in Florida or a compact multistate license. Compact license holders have 60 days after relocation to obtain the Florida license. BLS certification is required and must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date. An Associate Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma meets the minimum education requirement.
If the schedule, the market, and the career trajectory line up with where you're headed, don't let this one sit. Apply directly or book a confidential call — the team will walk you through the details and next steps.

The Package
Why Panama City?
Panama City sits along the Gulf Coast of northwest Florida, backed by some of the most recognized white-sand beaches in the country. The Emerald Coast earns that name — the water is clear, warm, and accessible year-round in a way most coastal markets simply are not. Cost of living runs well below the national average, and Florida's lack of a state income tax means your take-home pay goes noticeably further here than in most comparable markets. The community has a genuine small-city feel with solid infrastructure to match — established neighborhoods, quality schools, and enough retail and dining to live comfortably without ever driving to a major metro.
Outdoor life is essentially built into the calendar. Fishing, boating, paddleboarding, and beach access aren't weekend escapes here — they're part of the routine. Panama City is also close to Gulf Islands National Seashore and state forest land, giving residents easy access to hiking and natural spaces year-round. Families consistently point to the quality of life and the lower cost of raising kids as the reason they plant roots here. Youth sports, community events, and a manageable daily commute make the pace sustainable in a way bigger markets rarely can. If you've been looking for a place where strong clinical work and a life worth living outside the hospital can actually coexist, northwest Florida is a serious answer to that question.
