    Med-Surg RN

Kansas City, Missouri Permanent Days & Nights / Rotating Weekends

    The Opportunity

Kansas City's healthcare market is growing, and this Med-Surg position inside a Level I Trauma facility is one of the more substantive staff RN roles currently available. You will be working on a medical-surgical unit that serves adult patients across a broad range of medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurological conditions — with subspecialty exposure in Neuro, Ortho, and Nephrology. The unit runs 49 beds at a 6:1 ratio. That combination of acuity and case diversity gives you a clinical foundation that builds your resume and opens doors in ways that lower-volume settings simply cannot.

Two positions are open. Both days and nights are available, with rotating weekends. This is a permanent, staff-level role — steady, reliable work with a consistent schedule you can plan around.

Sign-on bonus is available on a case-by-case basis. Relocation assistance is negotiable. Compensation is competitive based on experience.

Candidates must hold an active RN license and at least one year of acute care experience — that experience does not need to be recent. An ADN or BSN is accepted. BLS certification is required upon hire. Compact license holders are welcome to apply.

If this role fits where you are in your career, apply now or reach out directly to schedule a confidential conversation. The team is ready to talk.

    Why Kansas City?

Kansas City sits at the confluence of two states and carries the kind of easy livability that most major metros charge a premium for. Housing costs remain well below the national average, which means your income goes further here than it would in comparable healthcare markets on either coast. The city is genuinely walkable in its core neighborhoods — the Crossroads Arts District, Westport, and the River Market draw residents who want real culture without coastal price tags. The food scene is internationally recognized, anchored by world-class barbecue and a growing number of chef-driven restaurants that have put the city on the national culinary map. Sporting KC and the Kansas City Chiefs give the community a shared civic identity that is hard to manufacture elsewhere.

Outside the city proper, the surrounding region offers a lot for families and outdoor-minded professionals alike. Trail systems and green space within the metro are extensive, and the Flint Hills are a short drive out for those who want wide-open terrain. School quality varies by district, but several suburban areas around the metro rank consistently high, and there are solid private options in the city as well. Commutes are manageable — traffic in Kansas City is a non-issue by the standards of most large metros, and the cost of living makes it realistic to live close to work. For a nurse relocating from a high-cost market, Kansas City is the kind of city that genuinely surprises people once they arrive.
