    Cardiac Telemetry Services RN

Independence, Missouri Permanent Days and Nights (Rotating Weekends)

    The Opportunity

Six openings on a 36-bed cardiac specialty step-down unit in Independence, Missouri — and if you have acute care or cardiac background, this role is worth a serious look. You'll be managing a high-acuity patient mix that includes chest pain, stroke, COPD, post-operative cases, GI cases, arrhythmia drips, and accelerated heart rhythms. This unit functions as a step-down from PCU and a Level II Trauma Center, so the clinical volume and complexity are genuine. Leadership is invested in career development with a documented pathway into critical care for staff who want to go there.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4 to 5:1 on days and 5 to 6:1 on nights, with one tech per hall. Day and night shifts are both available, with rotating weekend coverage across six open positions. The team culture here is built around mutual support and peer education — staff look out for each other and grow together. Relocation assistance is available on a case-by-case basis. Compensation is competitive based on experience, with shift differentials for nights and weekends.

To be considered, you need a minimum of one year of acute care RN experience and a current RN license from Missouri or a participating compact state. Graduation from an accredited nursing program — Diploma, ADN, or BSN — is required. BLS certification must be current at hire, and ACLS certification is required within one year of your hire date. A BSN is preferred.

    Why Independence?

Independence, Missouri sits on the eastern edge of the Kansas City metro — close enough to everything the city offers, with a pace and price point that are genuinely hard to argue with. The KC metro consistently ranks among the most affordable major markets in the country, which matters when you're relocating. Housing costs are low relative to income, commute infrastructure is solid, and you're never far from what you need. For families, the schools in and around Independence are strong, and the community carries a small-city character that larger metros tend to lose.

The Kansas City metro itself punches well above its weight. Four professional sports franchises, a nationally recognized culinary scene, live music, and a world-class arts district that routinely surprises first-time visitors. Outdoor recreation is accessible year-round — miles of trails, lakes within easy driving distance, and a climate that delivers all four seasons without punishing extremes. Whether you're drawn to a city with real energy or a quieter neighborhood with room to breathe, the Kansas City area offers both, often within the same drive.
